Powder Transfer System (PTS)

Our Lean and Dense phase pneumatic conveying systems safely transfer powders, granules, and abrasives, with precise conveying and high reliability.
Product Overview

Pneumatic Conveying That Adapts to Your Material Profile

TNBi’s Pneumatic Conveying Systems transfer powders, granules, and abrasives through sealed pipelines using air or inert gas. Depending on the system design, material is conveyed using either positive pressure or vacuum. Based on parameters like material characteristics, gas velocity, and pressure, systems are generally classified as Lean Phase or Dense Phase pneumatic conveying. Both in Vacuum and Pressure.

Case Studies

Proven in the Field

High-Efficiency Cyclone Replaces Fire-Prone Bag Filter
Challenge: A A A polymer processing facility handling ultra-fine powder after milling faced major operational setbacks due to an overloaded bag filter system. With dust loading at 8750 mg/Nm³ and over 90% of particles smaller than 9.1 µm, the existing setup couldn’t manage the fine particulate burden. This led to frequent fires, 18-hour downtimes, and repeated filter bag failures under heat and pressure.
TNBi Solution: To replace the breakdown-prone filter system, TNBi deployed a cyclone separator designed for high dust loads, eliminating the need for filter bags. The system featured a no-moving-parts design, which prevents choking, reduces maintenance, and ensures safe, spark-free operation. Its compact configuration also minimized noise and simplified integration into the plant’s layout.
Result
  • Emission level brought down to <25 mg/Nm³ >
  • 99.72% collection efficiency achieved
  • Zero fire incidents
  • Higher product recovery and uptime

FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a pneumatic conveying system, and how does it work?
A pneumatic conveying system transfers dry materials like powders and granules through pipelines using air or inert gas. It can be pressure- or vacuum-driven, ensuring dust-free, enclosed transfer from source to destination.
The lean phase conveying uses high-speed, low-pressure air to suspend and move lighter materials. Whereas the dense phase conveying system utilizes low-speed, high-pressure airflow to push heavier or abrasive materials in slugs, thereby reducing material degradation.
Yes. TNBi offers a system that’s custom-engineered to your material type, flow rate, conveying distance, space constraints, and safety requirements (including inert gas loops for hazardous zones).
